Stop log gates
Bulkhead gates and stoplogs are used at power plants, diversion structures, pumping plants, and canals. They are used to isolate equipment or features for repairs or inspection but are not used to regulate flow. Bulkhead gates and stoplogs are also used at intakes, outlet works, spillways, check structures, and draft tubes. One bulkhead gate or one set of stoplogs may be used to service several outlets or bays; on occasion, several sites may share bulkhead gates or stoplogs.
Goliath crane
The Goliath crane, as the name suggests, is a huge crane used to handle extremely heavy loads. Depending upon the load carrying capacity, the Goliath crane may use a single girder design or a double girder design. In our case, Goliath crane is used to lift the stop log gates.
