About Us

Godbole Gates Private Limited (GGPL) is an Invention Driven Engineering consultancy company, which has pioneered automatic gate technology for dams, weirs & barrages in India. Established in 1977, we have provided design engineering services for hydraulic gates with hoisting / operating equipment and supporting steel / RCC structures on over 150 projects across India. 

We are acknowledged for our innovative  hydro-mechanical solutions – the most celebrated one being the Godbole type “automatic tilting gate“. This gate, which has been awarded a Gold Medal by World Intellectual Properties Organization (WIPO) Geneva, and a cash prize by National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), New Delhi –  is India’s most extensively used automatic gate, with over 2000 installations on over 100 projects till date.

Our new offering – Godbole type “automatic submersible radial gate” is eminently suitable for low weirs, bridge cum bandhara structures and saltwater exclusion dams / tidal regulators where the gates are often submerged during floods.

In addition to different variants of two core gate technologies i.e. tilting gates & submersible radial gates mentioned above, we also provide design engineering & project management services for (a) Vertical lift gates & radial gates with their hoisting equipment & supporting steel structures like piers, trestles and bridges (b) Civil structures of submersible & confined flow type bandharas, weirs & barrages.
